The argument about AOL chat rooms that still bugs me 25 years later
I was in an AOL chat room back in '97 about obscure horror movies, and some guy named "Cinemaniac99" insisted that The Blair Witch Project was a real documentary. I spent like 45 minutes typing out proof it was fake, and he just kept saying "you weren't there man." Do you think people back then were way more gullible because the internet felt so new, or did they just like trolling before it had a name?

Did you ever wonder if some people just wanted to feel cool by arguing until their fingers cramped up like mine did?

Oh man, you hit the nail on the head. I used to spend hours locked in these pointless debates online just because I wanted to feel like I was winning something. I remember one time I argued for three days straight about which movie franchise was better. By the end my hands were so stiff I couldn't even type my own name. It's like we get caught up in the heat of it and forget no one's actually changing anyone's mind. Looking back it feels pretty silly, like I was just feeding my own ego instead of having a real conversation. I'd much rather just agree to disagree now and save my fingers.
