inJust hit my first year renting my own chair in Denver
My first year in my own chair in Austin, a regular from my old booth brought her whole book club in for treatments. That kind of loyalty is the best feeling, it makes all the stress of going solo worth it. I found sending a quick personal text to check in after big color appointments really helped build that connection. It's not about discounts, it's about remembering her kid's graduation or asking how her vacation was. Those small things turn a client into a friend who drives across town.

inPicked up a random zine at a free box in Asheville and it blew my mind
Right? Found a poetry chapbook on a bus once.

inHonestly thought a power trowel was overkill for a small patio job in Tacoma
Wow, that's a solid point about the finish quality! A power trowel gives you that even pressure you just can't match by hand on bigger slabs. Once you see that perfect finish, it's hard to go back.

inPSA: Had to pick between a new build addition or a full historic remodel for my 1920s Nob Hill bungalow
Honestly would've gone with the addition. More space always wins out over old wood.

inHad a weird echo on the comms during a hull clean in Seattle last week
Oh man, that sounds exactly like a gremlin we chased in Portland. We had that same high-pitched ring on a channel, drove us nuts for a day. Turned out to be a weird grounding loop from a new power supply they'd installed on the dock, of all things. Had to isolate the circuit.
