Warning: That free meditation app guide pushed me into bad habits
I used a guide from a big name app that told me to sit perfectly still for long periods. It made my back hurt and my mind race even more. I realized I needed to start with shorter sessions and allow small movements. Now I mix tips from a few different guides to find what feels right. My practice is way better since I stopped forcing it.

Why do they always make it so strict? I tried that rigid method too and it just made everything worse until I started moving around.

@anthony_taylor83, I was right there with you thinking strict plans always backfire. My old gym routine had every minute scheduled, and I just got bored and quit. Then a friend showed me how adding short walks between sets kept me going longer. That mix of fixed times with free movement made exercise stick for me. I guess a little frame works if you leave room to breathe.
