My lightbulb moment about using furniture for exercise
I always thought I needed weights to get a good sweat. Then I saw a chair in my living room and wondered if I could use it. Now I do step-ups on it during breakfast. My legs feel stronger after just a few weeks. It started when I was too lazy to go to the store. I realized my couch is perfect for tricep dips. This changed how I think about staying active.

You really trust your furniture that much? My old dining chair cracked when I just leaned back in it, so I can't imagine doing step ups on it. Isn't it just easier to do bodyweight stuff on the floor without worrying about your couch legs giving out? I see people online doing dips on kitchen counters and just wonder if the repair bill is part of the workout plan. Feels like making things harder than they need to be.

My old apartment had these weirdly sturdy kitchen chairs I tried using for step ups last year. I mean it worked okay at first but honestly I kept worrying about breaking them or slipping off. Maybe it's just me but I ended up going back to just using the stairs in my building for cardio. I guess I feel safer with stuff made for working out, even if it costs more.

Yeah test it first, put your full weight on it before trying any moves. I use my dining chairs because they're solid wood.
