Skipping stretches before detailing barrels wrecked my shoulder.

I used to think stretching was for gym rats, not gunsmiths. But after hunching over a lathe for hours, my back would SCREAM. Last month, I ignored the twinges and now I'm sidelined with a pinched nerve. Take it from me, your health IS part of the craft. A five-minute warm-up could save your career.

How many times did I laugh at the "safety first" guys before my body called in the bet? I mean, I used to just dive right into fitting actions, all twisted up like a pretzel. Now my knee sounds like a popcorn machine. Maybe it's just me but learning that lesson the hard way really takes the fun out of being stubborn.

The mental fog from constant pain is its own kind of career killer.
