Appreciation post: Noticing more chat about taking care of our hands these days
I mean, back when I started, we just dealt with the heat and kept going, even if our fingers were sore. I remember old timers would joke about the burns like they were badges of honor, but nobody really talked about preventing them. Now, I hear younger blowers sharing tips on lotions or cool down routines before they even start working. It's nice to see that change, because taking care of your hands means you can keep blowing glass longer. Maybe it's just me, but that focus on small health things makes a big difference. Idk, it feels like we're all learning to work smarter, not just harder.

Never forget your hands are your first tools.

Yeah that's so true. I used to just tough it out too, but @spencergonzalez is right about them being your first tools. Makes way more sense to look after them.
