Unpopular opinion: I used to think smartwatches were pointless until my friend showed me hers during a 5k run last month.
She pulled up her heart rate zones mid-stride and said 'seeing this data live changed how I pace myself, it's not just a tiny phone.' Anyone have a fitness gadget that actually surprised you?

Got a fitness tracker that shamed me into moving more. It buzzed with a "time to stand" alert while I was deep into a video game marathon. Felt like a judgmental little coach on my wrist.
