My foreman told me to skip the pre-heat on a small bronze pour
He said it was a waste of time for a 10 pound job, but the metal froze in the runner before it even hit the mold. I had to re-melt the whole batch and start over, which took an extra two hours. Anyone ever have an old-timer give you advice that completely backfired?

Yeah my boss said the same thing last week and it cost us a whole day.

Man, that reminds me of my friend's old manager who insisted on redoing a whole project because he didn't like the font. I mean, it was already approved and everything. They had to pull two all-nighters just to change the text in like a hundred slides. It was such a waste, and the client never even mentioned it.
