Hit 500 miles on my custom running route last Tuesday without realizing it
I've been tracking my runs on a hand-drawn map I made of my neighborhood. Last Tuesday I looked at my log and realized I had exactly 500 miles clocked on that one route. I started it back in March when I got tired of using GPS apps. It took me 8 months of the same 3 loops to get there. Has anyone else hit a random milestone from something you just did on your own?

Gotta call this out. 500 miles on the same 3 loops sounds like a grind, not a celebration. I get the appeal of ditching GPS apps - they can feel like a leash. But isn't the whole point of running to explore, to find new paths? You've been beating the same pavement for 8 months. That's not a milestone, that's a rut. Next time you hit 500, hope it's on fresh ground.

Honestly, I feel you on this. It can be really hard to break out of a routine once you're in it, especially when life gets busy.
