A coffee shop flyer led me to an amazing local pottery site
I was grabbing a latte at my regular coffee place last week and saw this handmade flyer tucked by the sugar jars. It was for a local pottery studio, which got me thinking about how I always see the same stuff online. So I went home and looked up the website, and man, it's packed with cool tips straight from the artist. She has these short videos showing her process, which really helped me understand the basics. I ended up ordering a little vase from her site, and it's now my favorite thing on my shelf. It got me wondering how other people find neat local spots without relying on apps or feeds. Have you all stumbled upon anything good lately just by keeping your eyes open?

Local businesses thrive when they ditch the algorithm, like @riverhunt said.

Saw a piece in the local paper last month about how people are finding cool spots through old-school methods... like bulletin boards at libraries or community centers. The article mentioned a couple who found a tiny bookshop just from a handwritten note in a laundromat. It's wild how much stuff we miss when we only scroll online... I've started checking out those free newspapers at diners, and they lead to some neat finds. Makes you appreciate the physical world a bit more, you know?
