DAE think margin doodles outshine the actual journal writing?

I mean, everyone gets hyped about the deep confessions, but idk, the random little sketches feel way more real. They show a slice of everyday life without any effort to impress.

You're right that people stage stuff for social media, but the original post is about personal journals, not Instagram. A staged doodle for the internet is a totally different thing than a quick sketch in your own notebook. The whole point of a margin doodle is that it's for you, done without thinking. Once you do it for an audience, it loses that "slice of life" quality the post is talking about. It becomes content, not a real moment.
