Found a 2005 forum thread about a guy trying to build a computer into a toaster

I was digging through an old tech forum archive last week and found this wild post from 2005. This guy was dead serious about putting a whole PC motherboard inside a Sunbeam toaster, complete with pictures of the melted plastic. I showed it to my friend who's an electrician, and he just laughed and said, 'That's not a project, that's a fire code.' It made me realize how many of these old posts are basically time capsules of pure, unchecked ambition (and sometimes bad ideas). Anyone else stumble on a thread where someone's old project idea was just gloriously doomed from the start?

Oh man, that hits close to home... I once tried to make a fish tank cooler with a car AC part. The ambition was there, but the execution was just a wet, sparky mess on my garage floor. Some ideas are better left in the forum archives.

My cousin tried to build a homemade water softener with a bucket of beads and a shop vac. It just made his basement smell like a wet dog and ruined his water heater.
