Delivering a wedding bouquet and the bride's dog thought it was a new chew toy

I was setting up at the venue in Asheville when their golden retriever grabbed the whole arrangement and ran. Had to chase him through three rows of chairs to get it back, and then spent 20 minutes redoing the ribbon. Anyone have a good trick for securing arrangements around pets?

Chase a golden retriever through three rows of chairs? That sounds like pure chaos. I can't believe the whole arrangement survived that. My aunt's dog would have shredded it in seconds. Maybe try putting the bouquet up on a high table until the last possible second.

What if the high table just makes it more of a challenge for them? I've seen a labrador clear a countertop for less. The real trick is to not make it a game. If you run, they run. I just freeze and use a calm voice, even if my heart is racing. It takes the fun right out of it for most dogs. Then you can trade for a treat.
