A customer's parrot decided to help with the flower arranging

I was at a house call to set up some table pieces for a dinner party. The lady had a big parrot in a cage near the dining area. While I was working, the bird got out and flew right onto my work table. It started picking at the petals and dropping them everywhere. The owner was trying to catch it, but the bird just squawked and moved to another bunch. I had to shield the flowers with my arms while she got the parrot back. We both ended up laughing once the bird was safe. Now I ask about pets before I bring in any fresh blooms. That bird had better taste in flowers than some of my clients, lol.

Parrots are curious and destructive by nature, not just playful. They chew and throw things to explore. If that bird decided a stem was a toy, my whole centerpiece could have been wrecked before the owner caught it. It's less about the bird's taste and more about its beak.

That's a funny story but was it really that big of a deal? Sounds like the bird just wanted to play. Do parrots even care about flowers?
