Vent: My photos from the same spot in May and October look like different worlds

I shot a roll of Portra 400 at a local creek in May, all bright greens and soft light, then went back in October with the same camera and film. The new shots are all orange leaves and deep shadows, and it's wild how much the place changed in just five months. Has anyone else been surprised by how different a familiar spot looks across seasons on film?

Honestly that just sounds like normal seasonal change to me... not that wild. Film picks up what's there.

Oh man, that reminds me of this old home video my dad took of our backyard one fall. The film made the light look all golden and thick, like honey, but I swear it was just a regular cloudy afternoon. Makes you wonder what else we're missing right in front of us.
