TIL my local camera shop's film fridge tells a story
Six months ago, their film fridge was half empty, mostly just a few packs of Portra 400 and some Tri-X. I went in yesterday and it's completely full, with three new shelves added. The owner said they're now selling over 200 rolls a week, up from maybe 50. He thinks a bunch of local college kids started a film club last semester. Has anyone else seen their local shop's stock change that fast?

Honestly, that fridge is probably the most exciting thing happening in that whole shopping center. It's like a weird little victory garden for overpriced nostalgia. Good for them, I guess, but my wallet hurts just thinking about it.

That fridge is a whole mood for sure.

Went in expecting to roll my eyes at another fad, but @quinn377's comment about the fridge being a mood hit me different. My local shop was down to like, five rolls of expired TMax last fall. Now they got a whole corner dedicated to Cinestill and even a bulk loader for people on a budget. The owner told me it's mostly kids shooting Holgas and point-and-shoots, not gear snobs like I figured. Kinda makes me rethink the whole "film is dying" thing I used to say.
