Heads up on those cheap airlock kits from that big online store

Lost about $35 when the grommets cracked on three lids during my first batch of sauerkraut, ruining the whole ferment. Anyone have a reliable brand for 1-gallon jar lids that actually last?

Ugh, that's the worst. I've had good luck with the plastic lids from Fermentology, they're way more flexible. Those cheap ones just get brittle and fail every time.

Totally feel that, the cheap ones crack if you look at them wrong. I've had way better luck with the thicker plastic lids too. Honestly it's worth paying a bit more to not have a batch ruined.
