That week in Philly where I sewed 12 buttonholes crooked and had to rip them all out
I was up till 2am on a Tuesday fixing a floral sundress for a client's wedding Saturday, then my machine jammed on the last one and I slammed my coffee mug on the table so hard it cracked.

oh man that hot washcloth tip is a lifesaver, i swear by it now. i was doing a batch of bridesmaid dresses last spring and had to rip out 30 buttonholes because my tension was off. by the third dress i was ready to throw the whole sewing machine out the window. the washcloth trick made the thread pop out clean without shredding the fabric, which was huge because those were silk. i still get twitchy whenever i see a buttonhole foot though.
