Question about sleeve length on techwear jackets
I keep seeing techwear jackets with sleeves that stop at the wrist bone, but that's wrong for actual movement. A proper design needs an extra inch for when your arms are forward, like holding a phone or a steering wheel. How do you guys figure out the right sleeve length for a functional piece?

Check the shoulder seam placement first. A lot of that wrist bone length is meant to work with a forward rotated arm, not a relaxed one. You might be trying on jackets with the wrong base fit.

Yeah that's a solid point, it's like we're all trying to fix the wrong problem. You see it everywhere, people adjusting the thermostat when the real issue is a drafty window. We get so focused on the symptom, like sleeve length, that we miss the root cause, which is the shoulder fit. It's a whole mindset of putting the cart before the horse. Makes you wonder how many other things we're just slightly off on because we started from a bad base.
