My $80 fabric shears from a shop in Seattle were a game changer for cutting silk.
I was using cheap scissors for years and always had frayed edges on delicate stuff. These Kai shears are so sharp and heavy, they glide right through without pulling the threads. Has anyone else found a specific tool that made a huge difference in their work?

Oh man, this is so true... it's like we're trained to just make do with the cheap version of everything. I see it with kitchen knives, screwdrivers, even pens. You struggle for years thinking you're just bad at something, when really you were just fighting your own crummy tools. A good tool feels like it's working with you, not against you. It's wild how much frustration we put up with to save a few bucks up front.
