I finally used a full spool of that 'unbreakable' monofilament thread on a project, and it snapped at the worst time.
I was finishing a custom corset in my home studio, and the thread gave out right as I was setting the final grommet (so much for unbreakable, right?). Has anyone found a truly reliable heavy-duty thread for structured pieces that won't let you down?

That unbreakable stuff failed on my last leather bag too.

Ugh, tell me about it! I had this gorgeous leather tote and the strap's "unbreakable" plastic clip just snapped one day. My stuff went everywhere in a parking lot. It wasn't even that old! Now I'm super suspicious of any hardware that makes those claims. It feels like they just use cheaper materials and call it a feature.

Man, that's the worst! I read an article a while back about how "unbreakable" is just a marketing word with no real rules. They can slap it on anything. It made me look at all my bags and jackets differently. Now I just assume any plastic clip is the weakest link, no matter what the box says.
