My coworker swore I looked just like a young Val Kilmer back in 2015

After she showed me a photo of him in Top Gun I actually went and bought mirrored aviators, and nobody at the BBQ last Saturday even made the connection, has anyone else had a lookalike claim that totally flopped?

Come on man... you really thought buying the same sunglasses would make people see Val Kilmer? That's like me buying a leather jacket after someone said I looked like James Dean and wondering why nobody at the office Christmas party got it. It's way more than just the accessories, it's the whole energy and bone structure and everything. You probably just have a similar hair color or jawline from one weird angle in bad lighting. People say that stuff all the time to be nice, you gotta take it with a grain of salt.

Yeah I've been through this exact thing. Someone told me I looked like a young Michael J Fox back in 2010. I went and bought a denim jacket and started doing that little head tilt thing he does. Nobody got it. Not once. Here's the thing - you gotta match the whole vibe not just one item. I'd say ditch the aviators and find one thing that really screams Val Kilmer specifically. Like his confident slouch or that way he talks slow. Pick one signature move and work it into your normal self. People need more than sunglasses to make the leap.
