I thought my neighbor was nuts for putting a magnet on his mailbox, but after my package got delivered to a house three blocks away last week, I'm starting to see his point.

The mail carrier told me the sorting machine at our local center has been misreading handwritten labels for months, and a strong magnet on the box can actually help align the letters for the scanner, which is why my neighbor's stuff never gets lost.

Totally believe it. I stuck a fridge magnet on mine last year and my mail got way more reliable.
