Unpopular opinion: My old foreman was right about never trusting a 'quick fix' on a door operator

He told me, 'If you bypass that safety circuit, you're just renting the problem for a week.' I ignored him on a rush job downtown last month, and the same car was back on my route three days later with a full lockout. What's the dumbest shortcut you've seen someone try to take?

Maybe it's just me but I used to think a band-aid fix was fine if it bought me time. Then a quick patch on a hydraulic line cost me a whole pump rebuild and that changed my mind real fast.

Saw a guy try to fix a commercial freezer door with zip ties and a prayer. The whole rack of coils fell on the floor when the door opened. That "renting the problem" line is spot on, it always comes back with late fees.

Renting the problem" is so true. I watched a neighbor patch a roof leak with just a tarp and bricks, and the next big storm sent it flying into my yard. Some fixes just make the next bill way bigger.
