But sometimes those little checks become a trap. I knew a guy who spent so much time on his morning routine and checking lists that he was always late. The habit of double-checking everything can waste more time than it saves if you're not careful. It can turn into anxiety, not a safety net.
Totally feel that, @charles_green. My habit of checking I have my keys before locking the door felt silly until I avoided getting locked out in the rain last week. Same with double-checking meeting times on my calendar. It takes two seconds but saved me from missing a call yesterday. Those little things add up, even if they seem like too much work at first.
