That moment I realized my basement subfloor was sitting on a vapor barrier upside down for 4 months

I was installing the flooring over my Dricore panels and my neighbour came over, looked at the dimples facing up, and asked if I was trying to grow mushrooms down there, has anyone else made this kind of rookie mistake with their subfloor?

My neighbor literally said it looked like I was trying to trap moisture for a science experiment, and now I’m paranoid I’ve got mold growing between the dimples.

Honestly though, did you actually check if there's airflow underneath? Most of those mattress toppers need to breathe or yeah they'll turn into a swamp. I've seen guys on the road rip open hotel mattresses after a few weeks and find that green fuzz growing right where the dimples sit. If your neighbor is nosy enough to point it out, maybe they've got a point and you're just letting it ride. Might be worth flipping it over and giving it a sniff before you wake up with a science fair project growing on your bed.
