Yeah, that's the real fix right there. So many people just pump the water out over and over. Getting the ground to slope away is the only thing that stops it for good. His buddy finally solved the problem.

That's a fair point but I think the ground slope is only half the battle. In my experience you also gotta make sure the downspouts are dumping water far enough from the foundation. Seen plenty of houses where the yard slopes fine but the gutter water just pours right next to the wall. A buddy of mine spent a whole year regrading his lawn and it still flooded till he added those corrugated drain pipes to his downspouts. Your mileage may vary depending on how wet your area is but I'd say both things need to work together.
