I finally tried spray foam insulation in my garage ceiling last month

Everyone told me it'd trap moisture and rot the roof decking but after one cold snap my garage stayed 8 degrees warmer than my neighbor's who used batt insulation, has anyone else had good luck with closed cell up there?

Closed cell is the way to go, did my whole attic two years ago and never looked back.

Did you put a vapor barrier down first? I did the same thing last fall in my garage and it was the best move I ever made. My buddy used fiberglass and his place is always freezing, mine stays comfortable even when it drops to single digits. The key is making sure the foam is thick enough and sealed tight at every seam. I've had zero moisture issues after a whole winter, so those old warnings might be overblown with the modern closed cell stuff. It's wild how much quieter it is too, I can actually run tools without the whole house vibrating.
