Finally figured out my mud was cracking because I was mixing it with cold water from the basement tap

My buddy had the same issue last year. He was using well water for his plaster and it was way too cold, made a huge mess.

Warmed my water in a big stockpot on the stove first. Made all the difference with the mix setting up right.
