Serious question, has anyone else tried those new digital flow meters?

I dropped about $2,500 on a fancy one for my cutter suction dredge last fall, thinking it would make my life easier. Everyone was saying it was the best way to track material moved and boost efficiency. Honestly, it's been a headache. The screen is hard to read in bright sun, and it keeps giving weird readings when the slurry gets thick with clay. I'm thinking of going back to my old method of checking the pump pressure and engine load. Has anyone found a digital meter that actually works right in tough conditions?

What brand did you get? Mine has a hood over the screen for the sun. Still acts up with heavy solids though. I keep a pressure gauge as a backup.
