The difference 2 years of proper layer management made on my drawings

I switched jobs back in early 2022 and my new boss made me redo all my layers from scratch. Honestly I thought it was overkill at first but after about 6 months I started noticing how much faster I could pull up specific info without digging through a mess. Now when I look back at my old drawings from my previous gig in Houston, the before and after is night and day. The old ones had layers named like 'layer 5' or 'stuff' and the new system uses a consistent AIA standard with colors locked per linetype. Has anyone else had a boss force a big workflow change that actually paid off big time?

Crazy how structure just makes everything easier once you actually commit to it.

Build on that by starting small. Pick one little thing, like making your bed or putting your keys in the same spot every day. Once that sticks, add another small thing. Before you know it, you've got a whole system that runs on autopilot and frees up your brain for the bigger stuff. It's not about being rigid either, it's more like having a solid foundation so you can actually handle the curveballs without everything falling apart.
