Picked a digital drafting tablet over my old light table setup

I've been drafting by hand for about 8 years now, mostly residential floor plans and elevations. Last month I finally had to choose between a $600 digital tablet setup or sticking with my old light table and vellum. Picked the tablet after hearing a buddy in Denver rave about his. Week one was a nightmare - my lines looked like a kid drew them and I kept hitting the wrong buttons. But after three weeks of forcing myself to use it daily, I'm starting to see the upside. No more eraser dust everywhere and I can undo a bad line in half a second. Still miss the feel of a real pen on paper though. Anyone else make this switch and feel torn about it?

My light table sat in the corner for two months before I finally packed it away last week. Makes me think how we trade one kind of mess for another - eraser dust is annoying but troubleshooting driver updates at 11pm is its own special kind of frustration. Everything in life seems to be swapping a familiar pain for a new one you haven't learned to hate yet.

My 3D printer sat for six months before I finally just sold it online.
