Learned that painter's tape on my saw blade stops chip-out on plywood cuts

Used to roll my eyes at painter's tape on blades, but tried it on some birch plywood last week and yeah, it really works better than I expected.

Yep. Blue tape is all I use now on Baltic birch.

My buddy Josh tried this on some cheap pine he was cutting for a shelf project. He forgot the tape was even on there and made the cleanest cut he'd ever gotten out of that wood. Now he's got a roll of blue tape just for his saw blades, says it saves him from sanding edges later.
