Why did nobody warn me about the 500 email subscriber wall?

I've been building my mailing list for 6 months in Denver, grinding away with lead magnets and social posts. Finally hit 500 subscribers last week, expecting the engagement to stay the same. But my open rates dropped from 45% to 22% overnight and half my clicks just vanished. What's the secret to keeping people interested after that milestone?

Dude that is exactly what happened to me. My list went dead quiet for almost six weeks after I hit a similar wall. I thought I broke something or everyone just unsubscribed on the same day. Turns out it was just the algorithm or whatever throttling my emails for a bit. Took a solid month before things picked back up and people started clicking again. My open rates were in the toilet for weeks but eventually they crawled back.
