Unpopular opinion: I think paying for a targeted Facebook ad to a local audience is way better than just boosting a post for my shop's page.

After spending $50 on each method last month, the ad got me 3 new service calls while the boost just got a bunch of likes from people two states away.

It's like paying for a billboard on your main street versus one on a random highway. The right tool for the job always wins.

Oh man, you figured it out. Boosting is a total waste for local work, it just shows your post to anyone. The ad tools let you draw a map around your town so only people who can actually hire you see it.

Yo same thing happened to me? I dropped $40 on a boosted post for my landscaping gig and got a bunch of likes from people in Florida. Meanwhile a targeted ad for $30 got me three solid leads from my zip code.
