TIL a $40 screen calibration tool is non-negotiable

My prints came out with a nasty green tint for months before I caved and bought a SpyderX. It fixed the color shift immediately. What other gear have you bought that solved a persistent art problem?

Totally get that, it's like finding the missing piece. I see this all the time with people trying to edit photos on a basic monitor. They fight with the colors for ages, blaming themselves or their software. Spending that one time on the right tool just ends the struggle. It's a good reminder that sometimes you just need the proper gear to see things clearly, lol.

Yeah and it's not just monitors. Like trying to tune a guitar with a busted tuner, you'll never get it right and you'll just think you have a bad ear. Or using a dull knife in the kitchen, you fight the food instead of slicing it. Good tools don't make you skilled, but they let you see the real problem.
