Showerthought: I just burned $200 on a 'pro' brush pack that was basically junk
Bought this set of 50 digital brushes for Photoshop last month because the ad said they were 'studio quality' and used by 'top artists'. Opened them up and half were just basic round brushes with different names, and the rest had weird pressure settings that made lines look jagged. The seller had a no-refund policy on digital goods, so I'm out the full amount. Honestly felt like they just slapped a fancy label on some free brushes they found online. Has anyone found a brush seller that's actually legit and not just repackaging stuff?

Saw a thread on a design forum last week about this exact scam. People were posting side-by-side comparisons of "premium" brush sets against free packs from like 2012, and they were identical. One guy even found the same "pro" watercolor brushes being sold by three different sellers for totally different prices. It's a minefield out there. I stick to making my own brushes now or only buying from artists I actually follow and trust.

My cousin got burned buying "studio grade" marker brushes last month that were just renamed freebies. Honestly, @garcia.charles, it feels like this repackaging scam is everywhere now, not just art stuff. I see it with phone chargers, kitchen gadgets, even supplements. Tbh it makes you not want to buy anything online unless you already know the brand. The whole system is built on fake reviews and fancy pictures.
