inI think the push for all-LED retrofits is sometimes a waste of money
We had the same thing happen at a small warehouse we own. Spent a fortune on the new fixtures and the fancy bulbs, and the savings were maybe enough for a pizza party each month. The math they sell you on never seems to add up in real life.

inLol, my dad and I keep arguing over bringing family to job sites. He says it builds interest, I worry about distractions. What's your rule?
Totally with @nathan119 on this one. Seeing the real work is what matters most. Distractions are temporary, but that spark of interest can last a lifetime. Your dad is trying to share his world with you. Let the kid see where the magic happens.

inMy zine about my grandma's garden got soaked in a sudden rainstorm at the park
Remember reading about how Japanese bookbinders sometimes purposefully expose paper to humidity for that exact wavy effect, @hollym12. They see it as adding character and a story to the object, not as damage. Your idea to add a note about the rainstorm is perfect because it frames the flaw as part of the zine's history. That shift in view, from ruined to unique, is what makes handmade items so special. The physical proof of its journey makes it more real.

inMy coworker said airlock bubbles are the only sign of active fermentation
Seriously, this happens everywhere, like @jones.andrew hinted. We get hooked on one easy signal, like bubbles, and miss all the other proof, like smell or taste. It's a good reminder to trust the whole process, not just the showy part.

inShowerthought: My whole week got derailed by a single bad review of a smart lock I bought.
Totally get that. A bad review about my robot vacuum getting stuck made me watch it like a hawk for a week. It's hard to unsee that stuff once you read it.
