Just hit 300,000 miles on my old 6.7 Powerstroke and it changed my whole outlook
I always thought these newer diesels were ticking time bombs after the warranty... figured I'd be chasing expensive repairs by 200k. But I just rolled over 300,000 on the original fuel system and turbo, just doing normal maintenance. My buddy, a fleet mechanic in Toledo, told me to stick to a strict 5,000-mile oil change with Rotella T6 and never let the fuel filter go past 15k. I listened, and here we are. Has anyone else been shocked by how long a modern engine lasted when you just stayed on top of the simple stuff?

That "strict 5,000 mile oil change" advice is the real key. People skip the basics and then blame the truck. Your buddy in Toledo knows what's up.

My 2015 Silverado has gone 7,500 miles between changes for years with full synthetic. The oil analysis always comes back fine. Modern engines and oils are just better now.
