Finally got around to changing the fuel filters on that old 7.3 at the shop in Tulsa...
I always figured the whole 'plugged filter causes the truck to fall flat on its face at 55 mph' was just mechanic chatter until my buddy's F-250 died right on the turnpike last Tuesday and swapping those two blue Racor filters got it purring again, anyone else run into that specific power loss symptom?

Those blue Racor filters are actually the gold standard for the 7.3, but just a heads up the stock ones from Motorcraft are white. Sounds like you got a good set though. The flat out at 55 mph thing happens when the filter gets clogged enough to starve the HPOP of fuel, usually from bad diesel or algae in the tank.

Dude, I've run filters way past clogged and never had it just die at 55.
