Used to delete old browser bookmarks by the dozen, now I just leave them alone

I had over 200 bookmarks from forums and tutorials I saved between 2008 and 2012, and last month I spent an afternoon cleaning them out. Half the links were broken and the rest pointed to sites that looked totally different or just redirected somewhere else. Has anyone else given up on trying to keep bookmarks organized for dead websites?

My 2008-era bookmarks folder was basically a time capsule of dead woodworking forums and DIY blog tutorials that don't exist anymore. I spent a whole Saturday last month going through them and maybe 30 out of 150 still worked. The rest were either 404 errors or redirected to spam sites. It's honestly kind of sad how much useful info just vanished from the internet. I feel your pain, clearing them out feels like digital archaeology more than cleaning.

Agree with @lisa_wilson87, it's more like burying digital ghosts than tidying up.
