The week I thought my old MP3 player was dead but it just needed a new battery

Last month I dug out my 20-year-old Creative Zen Micro from a drawer in my parents' basement, and it wouldn't turn on at all. I spent a whole evening online hunting down a replacement battery for $12, and after a tricky swap it fired right up with all 500 of my high school playlist songs still on it. Has anyone else brought an old gadget back to life with a simple part swap like this?

Man, I had the exact same thing with an old iPod Mini I found at a garage sale.

Betty, you're crazy if that's the same thing... those old iPod Minis had way better build quality than anything today. Sure the battery was junk after a decade but the click wheel still worked perfect. Try using a modern Zune or whatever they call those Sony Walkmans now - they feel like cheap toys in your hand. That iPod Mini was built to last, not like the plastic garbage they make today. You found a garage sale gem, not some overpriced junk.
