Tried to photograph the old fountain at Northgate Mall and got kicked out by security
I was just taking a few pics of that dry fountain with the weird tile work, nothing crazy. Some guard came running over like I was casing the place for a heist. I mean, has anyone else had security lose it on them for just taking pictures at a dead mall?

Wait, wasn't that break-in at the mall in Greenville not Northgate? @tarak17 I thought the Northgate one had the issue with that guy running his car through the front doors a couple years back. Either way, security going after someone snapping pics of a dead fountain is just dumb, doesnt take a genius to see you're not there to rob a place with no customers.

I saw something on the news about malls cracking down on photographers because they think it's for "security research" or some nonsense. Yeah, I read that Northgate Mall has been really jumpy ever since they had that break-in at the jewelry store last year. It's a dead mall with a dry fountain and maybe 20 people walking around, not Fort Knox. I get that they want to look busy for the security company they hired, but chasing off someone with a phone camera is just sad.

Yeah @anthony_lane55 exactly, feels like everywhere's getting weird about just existing in public spaces now.
