Lost $40 on fake karate lessons in that abandoned mall in Toledo

Went to Westgate Mall last month and there was a guy running a "dojo" in the old food court. Paid $40 cash for a "trial session" and he just had me move boxes for 45 minutes. Total scam, nowhere near the real malls. Has anyone else run into fake vendors squatting in these places?

Got tricked into paying $50 for "sushi making classes" in a dead mall once. The guy handed me a bag of day old rice from the gas station and told me to "roll with it". I mean, I was desperate for something to do on a Sunday, but now I just stick to watching YouTube tutorials in my kitchen where the only thing getting scammed is my dignity.

Ha, @garcia.charles I feel your pain so much! I once paid $40 for a "weekend pottery workshop" in some random studio space and the guy just made us watch a VHS tape from the 90s while he smoked outside the whole time. At least the day-old rice story is a funny one to tell now, right?
