Heads up about the back hallway shortcut at Metro North Mall

I found a way into the old food court through a service corridor behind the abandoned Sears. The door was unlocked and I walked right in last Saturday. Problem is the floor is all torn up and there is a big drop near the old Orange Julius counter. I almost twisted my ankle on some exposed rebar. The trick was bringing a good flashlight and going slow. I got some great photos of the 90s tile work before I left. Has anyone else found a hidden entrance in their local dead mall that turned out to be risky?

30 year old me would have laughed at bringing a flashlight to a mall, but walking into that dark service corridor changed my mind real quick. The broken concrete and rebar near Orange Julius would have wrecked my ankle without a good light in my hand. Now I tell everyone to check the footing twice before exploring an old mall.

Wait, there's rebar sticking out near the Orange Julius? Like just sitting there waiting to stab someone in the dark? Thats actually terrifying, I always figured those old mall spots were just dusty and gross not legit dangerous.
