I spent $40 on a 'secure' USB drive that was a complete scam

Last month I bought a flash drive online that claimed to have hardware encryption. The listing said it would keep my files safe from hackers. When it arrived, I plugged it in and the password prompt was just a basic text box in a folder, not real encryption. I tested it by pulling the drive while it was unlocked and all the files were still readable on another computer. Has anyone found a USB drive with actual good security that doesn't cost a fortune?

Check out Kingston's IronKey lineup. They have real hardware encryption that actually works.

Yeah, the hardware encryption on those is solid. I've used one for years and it's never given me trouble. Just make sure you don't lose the password, because you're not getting back in.
