Had a chat with a neighbor in his 70s about password managers

My neighbor Jim saw me typing in a password on my phone last week and asked why I don't just use a password manager. He said he's been using one since 2015 and has over 200 logins in there. It hit me different because he's not techy at all, just a retired mechanic who got tired of resetting his email password every month. Made me wonder how many other simple tools I'm avoiding just because they seem complicated at first. Anybody else have a moment where a non-tech person made you rethink your setup?

Honestly I'm not convinced they're all that great. What happens when that one company gets hacked and suddenly all your logins are out there at once?

68 million passwords leaked from NordPass last year alone, and that's just one breach. I used to be all about password managers, but stories like that really changed my mind. Now I'm back to using a notebook for my most important logins.
