Totally feel you on this one. I've done the same thing more times than I care to admit... it's like your brain just skips the most important step.

My buddy Dave spent seven hours on a job once because he guessed the load on a beam. I used to think that was just bad luck, but after reading your story I get it now. It really is just one wrong number and suddenly you are stuck redoing everything. Learning the hard way is the only way sometimes I guess. Never again without that chart in my hand first.
