Blew out a client's haircut with too much heat last Tuesday

I was in my booth at Shear Styles in Austin and cranked my Babyliss up to 450 for a quick dry. The ends got this crispy fried look that took me 20 extra minutes with a trim and some oil to fix. Has anyone else messed up a blowout because they rushed the heat?

...and THAT'S exactly why I don't trust those high heat settings even though they save time. Last month I was drying my own hair after a shower and got SO impatient I cranked my old Conair up to the max. Ended up with this weird frizzy halo around my whole head, looked like I stuck my finger in a socket. My manager at the restaurant saw me and asked if I got electrocuted or something. Took three deep conditioning treatments to get my hair to act normal again. Sometimes you just gotta accept that slow and steady wins the race with heat styling.
