The Geocities pizza shrine that still orders by fax, somehow
Last Tuesday I was hunting for old local band pages and tripped over this site from like 1999. It's just a guy in Tucson who reviews pizza places, but he updates it every month and still takes orders through a fax number on the page. The pizzeria he reviews actually picks up the fax and calls him back. I sent him a message through the guestbook and he replied in 2 days. How is this thing still running? Anyone else got a relic that's more alive than most current sites?
Man, I gotta say I see this backwards. People treat stuff like that like it's a museum piece, but that fax line is probably the most honest thing on the internet. All that site is doing is staying small enough to actually work. No algorithms, no engagement bait, just a guy who likes pizza and a shop that answers the phone. Most big sites are just ghost towns with auto-reply bots, so a real human answering in two days is light years ahead of that. The only reason it seems weird is because we got used to everything being fake and fast. Sounds to me like this guy found the cheat code.
